  Information About the Event
On Friday, October 16th we are proud to bring you ?FUNKTION? - Volume 4.

Fresh off the heels of an extremely fun and successful event last September, the Funktion team is excited to host not only one ? but two special guests this month: Jas Nasty (Dark Disco, HUMP, Fresh Beaver), and Bass Machines (Ottawa's hottest new upcoming duo).

(* Special old school house, breakbeat, electro and UK Garage set *)

Jas Nasty loves dirty beats. Driven by heavy bass, you can expect to get down when she drops banging tracks that will bust through genre barriers of old school house, breakbeat, electro and UK Garage.

Her DJ adventures began in 2001 at Trent Radio, (Peterborough), where she hosted and produced various weekly music shows. This led to DJ-ing parties and bars in Peterborough, and to Montreal to DJ for circus cabarets and loft parties.

Jas founded Women on Wax MTL in 2005, and was involved in the early Montreal dubstep scene, opening for pioneers Skream and Kode 9 at Ghislain Poirier's night Bounce Le Gros in 2006. Now in Ottawa, she continues to hustle heavy bass with her involvement with parties Dark Disco, HUMP, and Fresh Beaver.

Bass Machines is a DJ act consisting of G Talia (Anthony) and Douglas Quade (Jared) who decided to combine their creativity to form a unique and entertaining style. Blending a vast array of house and electro, they will bombard the dance floor with their intense, compelling sound.

Join us this month as the Funktion crew welcomes Jas Nasty & Bass Machines, and delivers as always some of the world?s most sought after new sounds, samples and beats in house, breaks, electro and techno to satisfy your need for cutting-edge electronic music. Also featuring resident Funktion DJs Disko Dave and DJ Plush. If you don?t know by now, these two DJs with fairly different styles have equal capacity to rip it up with their arsenal of dance floor bangers. It's a little slice of dance floor heaven!

We welcome back our loyal fans, friends, and all new members to once again capture our distinct sound and vibe. This is how underground music should be, and we welcome you to be a part of it.
