This Thursday September 4th, Kings of Tomorrow's Sandy Rivera holds court at Cielo. As a DJ, the Puerto Rican from NYC, who due to his global travels affectionately refers to himself as a "citizen of the world", similarly mixes and matches styles with a penchant for house, electronica, techno and their many offshoots. At the dawn of the millennium he gave us the celebrated house anthem 'Finally' under the KOT guise, just one of the multi-faceted producer's variety of pseudonyms that also includes Soul Vision, Mysterious People, Haze, Organized Noize and plain old Sandy Rivera. He's also turned his hand to reshape material for an equally varied selection of artists: most notably veteran jazz musician Terry Callier, African greats Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and house divas Gisele Jackson and Michelle Weeks.

These days "smooth, tech-house and minimal" is how the Italian-born Misstress Barbara, who headlines the Made Event on the Friday 5th, describes her current musical style. Now considered Canada's first lady of electronica, Misstress Barbara - spelled with four "s" to underscore 'miss' and 'stress' - plays groovy techy, minimal and electro funk filled grooves, constantly pushing her own limits to evolve with the music that inspires her. As an artist she's recorded for Border Community, Bedrock and Intec. Throughout 2007 and into 2008, continuing with her evolution as an artist; Misstress Barbara began work on her first artist album "I'M NO HUMAN" due out in late 2008.

On Thursday, September 11th, UK's Layo & Bushwacka! bring their edifying DJ sets that are always refreshing without ever being self-indulgent, combining familiar elements juxtaposing compulsive collages that are always guaranteed to create a great night out. When L&B! secured a UK top ten hit with 'Love Story' – which had started life as an instrumental track that they piggybacked Sandy Rivera's 'Finally' vocal atop - people suddenly became aware of the soundclash style that they'd honed to make their own. Hear for yourself what regulars at their London residency, at the über fashionable End nightclub, have been experiencing for years.

Nicolas Matar's Paradizo night on Saturday 13th promises to be another highlight in September with our resident spinning his trademark mix of jazzy funky house with disco, Afro and Latin-influenced grooves. Check out Cielo's new compilation, "CINCO" on Tommy Boy Records, mixed by Nicolas and fellow resident Willie Graff, to further satisfy your cravings. Always striving to educate as well as entertain (like all legendary DJ figures), Matar has rightfully earned the recognition as an architect of the cool, stylish and deep; a serious connoisseur's house set that's sure to captivate.

Cheap Sunglasses presents the Minitek Official Closing Party on Sunday 14th with guests Baby Ford, Matthias Tanzmann, Taimur Agha and Crazy Larry. It's a real international affair with Baby Ford a key player in the rise of acid house in the UK during the notorious "second summer of love" back in 1987; his singles 'Oochy Koochy' and 'Children Of The Revolution' widely considered pivotal moments of the era. Meanwhile from Leipzig, Germany, Matthias Tanzmann is a 12-year DJ veteran known for his deep and minimal sets that have translated into releases for Moon Harbour and Poker Flat. While Cheap Sunglasses residents Taimur Agha (Brooklyn) and Crazy Larry (Denver) make up the party with their raw enthusiasm and energy that has seen their nights become somewhat legendary – their performances incorporates vintage drum machines, live home made plug-ins, and even the Nintendo Wii!

The must-attend date of the month is on the 16th with the appearance of the hottest producer in dance music, Deadmau5. It's hard to believe that it's only 18-months since the Canadian was introduced to the world when a copy of 'Faxing Berlin' found its way into the hands Pete Tong. Since then Deadmau5 (pronounced dead-mouse) has released a string of online top-sellers, was described by Beatport as the "most influential, forward-thinking and relevant person," and was named Producer of 2007 by both Tiësto and Armin van Buuren. Come early or book advance tickets from www.wantickets.com as it's sure to be a sell-out.

An equally uber cool producer/DJ is Denmark's Anders Trentemøller who brings his unique electronica skills to Cielo on Thursday 18th. "THE LAST RESORT", his debut Poker Flat album, is widely regarded as a future classic, while his Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1 in 2006 was voted the best of the year. Trentemøller's remix discography is equally impressive featuring the likes of Röyksopp, The Knife, Pet Shop Boys, and Moby's seminal 'Go'. While his DJ sets are similarly a cross-pollination of electro, techno and house that converge into unadulterated crystalline electronica of the highest order.

On Friday 19th Defected Presents Charles Webster Release Party with the man behind the acclaimed Love From San Francisco label, and producer of Tracey Thorn's 'Out Of The Woods' solo album, in the spotlight. Originally from Sheffield, UK and now into his second decade as a soulful house innovator on the electronic music scene, Charles has sold over 100,000 albums without ever being considered "mainstream" or having a major hit single, yet to his peers and legions of fans he's one of the best. Hear Charles' magical and enveloping set for yourself on what's sure to be dreamy night of orchestrated electronica and soul-infused house.

After his triumphant set in May, Carl Craig returns to play Demon Days on the 25th. Recently crowned the #1 remixer of all time by DJ magazine, Carl Craig will again underscore why he's generally regarded as a master of all trades and a jack of none! With a 20-year career the Detroit native is widely considered to be one of the most important techno producers and DJs to emerge from the city. His style embodying a wide and eclectic range of musical genres including jazz, soul, world beat and even drum & bass.

We round the month off on Friday, 26th with perhaps the most eclectic night in September as The Glimmers headline the Made Event. Mo Becha and David Fouquaert where formerly known as The Glimmer Twins, before being forced to change their name by the Stones' Mick Jagger & Keith Richards who often use the alias. Diversity is their game, and whilst the Belgian duo are not as radical as their Dutch quick mix counterparts, 2 Many DJs, they're never shy of mashing up '80s rock and new wave with hip-hop wordology and contemporary electro. Reaffirming that a little imagination and a lot of balls can go a long way.

Don't forget peppered in between the guests this month every Monday is Deep Space with Francois K. More rumbling bass-savvy grooves it's a truly enveloping journey of tripped-out house, dubby beats and FK's unique blend of electronica. While on Wednesday's our weekly Roots soiree is hosted by two leading disciples of house, Louie Vega & Kevin Hedge. It's a guaranteed afro-centric house jam where deep, soulful beats and Latin-infused grooves create an atmosphere to match the warmth and intimacy of Cielo.
