Progressive Entertainment Presents Habersham : Feb 10, 2005 - Lotus Sound Lounge

Atlanta’s DJ Habersham made a stop at Focus Fridays on Feb 10 and clearly showed everyone there what all the fuss was about!

1998 was the year Habersham got his start as a DJ and by 2003 he was releasing records on his own and with DJ/Production partner, Numinous. He has now released over 15 tracks and done more than 20 remixes as well as run the respected label Blueprint Records. Some mixes his tracks have appeared on are Renaissance Presents Therapy (1 and 2) : mixed by Dave Seaman, Phil K. and Luke Chable, Balance 004 and Y4K : mixed by Phil K and another Y4K : mixed by Australian DJ collective NuBreed. Habersham has made quite the name for himself in such a short time and looks poised to become more of an international sensation!

My plan was to take pictures of the crowd while Habersham was playing and then settle in and get my groove on. Before I knew it, it was 3 hours later! The set was that amazing! It seemed like every person in the place was focused on the booth, waiting to see what he would do next? His set was very "electronic" and featured a lot of crazy sounds within a progressive breaks framework. Every person there was riveted to the music even if they were not dancing!

Talking to people in the crowd, what I heard most was how pleasantly surprised they were by the "different" music being played. Many did not know exactly what to expect but had nothing to fear as Habersham took them on a journey they were not soon to forget! The floor was full from start to finish and I do recall seeing a visibly happy Tyler from Progressive Entertainment beaming from beside the booth! Well done!

I am always impressed by the crowd at Focus Fridays as everyone is very friendly and obviously there for the music. This, in my opinion, is what a club night should be all about and takes me back to the sense of community felt when dance music was first gaining popularity. Be sure to make Focus Fridays a part of your weekend plans. You will not be disappointed!

Keep Friday February 24th open as Progressive Entertainment presents Desyn Masiello (UK).

Nominated by Deep Dish, Sander K and Danny Howells as their "Future DJ Hero", his sets incorporating house classics, deep, tech and progressive sounds have gained him worldwide fame. Do not miss Desyn as he stops in at Focus Fridays as part of his current World Tour!
