Week of June 11th to June 17th

Oscar G @ Republik Nightclub. Wednesday June 14th. 261 Richmond Street West. $15 admission. With Manzone and Strong, Walter Rosati and Jr. Flo.

As half of legendary Miami based duo Murk, (with Ralph Falcon), Oscar G has co produced some of the greatest house anthems of all time and played at some of the best venues around the world. His work with Falcon again, (Funky Green Dogs) is quite impressive as well. Finally, Oscar G’s solo releases have been pretty strong. Producing quality hits has been his specialty, but he is also a rather good DJ.

Last appearing in Toronto at Republik, (with Manzone and Strong) in December, Oscar G played to a well received event that was really busy and full of energy. Expect to hear the same of his chunky, driving, tribal style this time out.

Hosted by junglepoker.com

Max Graham @ This is London. Friday June 16th. 364 Richmond Street West. $20 admission. With Brad Copeland.

Max Graham is a Canadian boy, but he’s an international star constantly playing around the world in various clubs. Yet again, the SoHo Fridays crew brings another great talent to This is London is support of the outstanding Friday night music driven parties. Although the club is very upscale, the music is the focal point every Friday night.

With Max Graham, you can expect to hear a mix of trance, house, progressive and techno. Local Brad Copeland is the mood setting DJ on this night, so expect to be taken on a journey by both DJs. This one will go late night and will be full of energy.

Hosted by Till the Am, Activate, and Rockstarr Productions

DJ Spinna at Sunnyside Pavilion. Saturday June 17th. 1755 Lakeshore Blvd. west
Tented to go rain or shine!! $20 advanced tickets. With Richard Brooks, Felix and Gani, and Mike Klaps.

Sunnyside Pavilion is one of Toronto’s coolest venues for partying. The Milk crew has been doing parties at Sunnyside for years, and they have always been very successful events. Sure, some people might be mad at me for exposing one of Toronto’s coolest venues to the masses, but the point is that Sunnyside is worth checking out if you are a house music fan.

DJ Spinna is a very versatile DJ that will play the best of house, afrobeat, funk, soul, etc. With a storied career, and his own label, Wonder Wax, this Stevie Wonder inspired DJ is joined by Richard Brooks, Mike Klaps, and the always great, Felix and Gani of milkaudio.

Hosted by Richard Brooks, Dany V, Izzy and the milkaudio.com crew

Miss Honey Dijon at Sonic Nightclub. Saturday June 17th. 270 Spadina Avenue. $20 Advance tickets. With Cajjmere Wray.

Toronto’s new house music haven, Sonic Nightclub, welcomes Miss Honey Dijon for her (!) first appearance at Sonic. Having previously rocked out the previous incarnation of the building, Dijon will be playing her (!) signature style of bumpin’ and dirty Chicago/NYC influenced house. Inspired by the likes of Danny Tenaglia and Derrick Carter, Miss Honey Dijon promises not to disappoint.
