Tucked away like a best-kept secret, Doku15 is a pan-Asian restaurant located on 8 Colborne Street in the Cosmopolitan Hotel. Named after the Japanese word for "poison" Doku15 is far from harmful. With refined tastes from India to Indonesia to Japan, Korea, Thailand and China, this pan-Asian restaurant reflects the array of foods and the fusion of ingredients for the truly adventuresome connoisseur.

At Doku15, Chef G.Q Pan puts a dash of harmony and a gram of balance into his entrees.

More than a restaurant, Doku15 has become a neighbourhood fixture where gastronomists return time and time again to savour the pleasures of bite-size palatable dishes, welcoming staff and tasty "Saketinis". While browns, oranges, reds and textured elements fill the space, a spread-out divan with cushy pillows make one’s visit feel quite snug. Approaching the dining area, one will take notice to the fiery red-orange bench-like seating, concrete walls, wood tables and pearly-white plates. With candles and tea lights warming the interior, the toasty air soon becomes vibrant when some of Toronto’s finest Deejay’s spur the crowd with vocal house and jazz tunes.

Beyond modest decor and vivacious music comes the delish food. Cooking is based on rules of chemistry which determine the success of a combination of ingredients. At Doku15, Chef G.Q Pan puts a dash of harmony and a gram of balance into his entrees. Thai Coconut Curry made with slices of tender chicken, stuffed with lemongrass and mushrooms, lacquered with Thai Curry. Heavenly! Or perhaps Crispy-Duck stuffed Wontons and gourmet Sushi prompts an invitation. Let’s not forget to make mention to Chef Pan’s spell-bind, Green Tea Tiramisu ($10). Spongy light-as-air cake with green tea tangled in with the smoothest mascarpone and showered with golden flakes. Indeed, it is flavour fusion!

Chic, tranquil and delightfully entertaining Doku does it well!
