This week is a very exciting week in Toronto for house music because it is Gay Pride Week. Pride brings out a very diverse crowd of open minded clubbers who want to enjoy house music regardless of the orientation of the people around them. Some of the best international talent also comes to town for this big celebration.

Here are some great gay (and straight) events going on this weekend. Although there are many big events this week going on, here are my personal picks.

With art direction by highly renowned event co-coordinator, Gairy Brown, this party should go well into the afternoon with many hot "peep show" performances thrown in along the way.

Friday June 23rd, DJ Dan @ This is London. 364 Richmond Street West. $20 admission. With Manzone & Strong and Simon Jain. Doors open at 10pm.

Although not a house DJ per say, the techno driven DJ Dan has been incorporating house into his sound and rocking crowds worldwide, as an in demand producer and DJ. DJ Dan is a pioneer of the Los Angeles based electronic scene, and his accolades and accomplishments are rather impressive. SoHo Fridays, the weekly house music event renowned for bringing in world class talents to play with the stellar locals, welcomes DJ Dan along with Manzone and Strong & Simon Jain. This should be a fun filled, high energy night.

Saturday June 24th. David Morales @ Sonic Nightclub. 270 Spadina Avenue. $30 advance tickets. With Nevio. (Pride Event). Doors open at 1am.

David Morales and Nevio are the co-owners of Sonic Nightclub. As witnessed by the madness that was the grand opening of Sonic on April 29th, the support for Morales is rather high. On Saturday June 24th, Morales returns to Sonic for the first of his ?Peep Shows? in what will be an event full of aural and visual pleasure. With art direction by highly renowned event co-coordinator, Gairy Brown, this party should go well into the afternoon with many hot "peep show" performances thrown in along the way.

Saturday June 24th. Tall Paul @ the Guvernment. 132 Queens Quay East. With Dean Coleman in the Drink. Also with Manzone and Strong and Mark Oliver. $15 admission before midnight. Doors open at 10pm.

Yes, he got his nickname because he is tall. Standing 6 foot, 6 inches, Tall Paul is a in demand artist and one of England’s leading DJs. Signed to the Ministry of Sound label, Tall Paul has released some successful compilations such as Dance Annual 6 and 7, and Clubber’s Guide to 2001 and 2003. He brings his towering frame to the Guvernment main room, alongside longtime resident, Mark Oliver.

Dean Coleman from Deep Dish’s Yoshitoshi label is in the Drink, with residents Manzone and Strong. With the Drink residents setting the pace for the night, Dean Coleman is sure not to disappoint.

Sunday June 25th. Peter Rauhofer @ The Guvernment. 132 Queens Quay East. $60 advance tickets. With Sean Riker, Cajjmere Wray, Sumation, DJ : TK, Chester Wong, DJ Chiclet + Chris//Dan, and Sofonda Cox. (Pride Event). Doors open at 10pm.

Chances are you have heard a Peter Rauhofer remix, you probably just don’t know it. He has remixed and produced some huge anthems and is an amazing technically sound DJ in his own right. Whether it is his remixes of Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, Cher, etc, he knows how to turn a song into a club anthem. The Pride closing party is a rather huge event that in my opinion, officially kicks off summer properly. With Rauhofer closing out Pride yet again this year, this event is certain to be insane.

Have fun and be safe this weekend?
