14th edition of Montreal Fashion Week, March 25 to 28, 2008
More international than ever...
Montreal, March 10, 2008 - March 25th will mark the official launch of the 14th edition of Montreal Fashion Week, held in collaboration with P&G Beauty. Close to 10,000 buyers and representatives of the fashion industry from North America, Europe and Asia are expected to descend on the Bonsecours Market from March 25 to 28, eager to discover the creations of talented designers.
Leading designers will be presenting, to members of the press and buyers from around the world, the fall and winter collections of: BODYBAG by Jude, BSD, Clau & Vane Couture, Dinh Ba Design, ENVERS by Yves Jean Lacasse, GENUX, HELMER, LAB Creatif, Marie Saint Pierre, MUSE by Christian Chenail, Myco Anna, Samuel Dong, Simon Chang, RUDSAK Collection, Soļa & Kyo, Soku, Thieves by Sonja den Elzen, ZEN B.. Added to these will be a number of group fashion presentations as well as many other special happenings.
The event’s organizers are particularly proud of this 14th edition, which is distinguished a rich program featuring more than 75 participants - unprecedented at MFW. This unique edition illustrates the event’s phenomenal growth over the past 2 years. MFW is now firmly established as a requisite rendez-vous on the North American fashion scene.
The growing excitement generated by Montreal Fashion Week is the result of several years of work and the support of an increasing number of sponsors. This year, we are pleased to enjoy the participation of journalists from the US, Japan, Europe and the rest of Canada who will be covering the event, as well as the presence of national and international buyers. In fact, thanks to the contribution of the ministere du Developpement economique, de l’Innovation et de l’Exportation du Quebec (MDEIE - Department of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade), a large number of buyers will be travelling here from the US, France, the UK, Germany and Japan, to attend the many fashion shows scheduled for the March 2008 edition of Montreal Fashion Week and its newest element, Le Showroom.
With these, the 14th edition demonstrates Montreal Fashion Week’s ability to assert its position on the national and international scenes. While aspiring to ever greater heights, we can now confirm what the industry has been saying for years: Montreal has a unique pool of creative talent and an industry large enough to position itself among the world’s leaders.
