PAPERCLIPS UNITY CAMPAIGN, ADVENTURE VALLEY ( FREE ADMISSION) :
The Paperclip Unity campaign is being launched as part of a greater initiative to boost Holocaust education in schools and homes. Nicole Bloomberg, creator & designer of the Paperclip Bracelet, is launching the " Paperclips Unity Campaign" in honour of Holocaust Remembrance Day.
As part of the launch, Bloomberg will be holding a screening of the award-winning documentary Paperclips on May 22, 2008 at Adventure Valley at 6:30 p.m located at 7015 Leslie St. Thornhill, ON.
Paperclips is about how one classroom learned about compassion and humanity by collecting paperclips an object that came to symbolize the unbreakable links between brother to brother, human to human.
The event is highly recommended to not only students but their parents and educators as well, as these are the people who hold the most influence in our children’s lives.
The month of May also marks the days when we are supposed to reflect on equality & solidarity. Holocaust survivor Shari Fine will emphasize that message by speaking about the lessons of unity she learned through her experience.
Other features of the event will include kids writing on stones one word that denotes unity, universal love, and peace to donate to Goodwin Learning Centre and sales of the Paperclip Bracelets will help fund education for the holocaust and other atocities of that take place world wide. ADVENTURE VALLEY-7015 Leslie St. Thornhill, ON, 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.
