| Member:Aaron | Jan 2 2008 3:53PM | | I'm am absolutely outraged as to how the Lotus was running on New Years Eve 2007. I had paid $50 for a ticket to the event they were holding for new years. As soon as I got to the bar around 10pm there were massive line ups I had to wait almost 2hrs before getting in to the bar when I got in to the bar they couldnt even check my coat in, they had like 1 bar tender working by himself from what I could see. The staff were rude and pushy, I've been to the lotus many times before this and have never had such a horrible experience.
I paid $50 for this event, I should have been treated a little bit better. I didnt pay $50 to have to carry my coat around with me ALL night long, I went to the bar to have fun not watch my coat all night to make sure it doesnt get stolen. This is a joke, if I could get my money back I WOULD! I would have paid a max of $15 for this event as i feel thats all that it was worth. They made it sound like this was going to be a crazy fun night, I would have to say it was very disappointing that you would mislead your clients in this way. Dont get me wrong I'm sure there are a few folks out there that had a blast, just not myself and a few of my other friends. For $50 per person I heard you were charging $70 at the door, this event should have been well planned. You should have made sure that all those tickets you sold, you have enought room for your clients, have enough hangers for clients to hang there jackets, and have your staff treat clients with respect and dignity.
After all the garbage i dealt with on New Years Eve at the Lotus its totally painted a negative image of the lotus for not only myself but my friends. I use to enjoy going there but I can now see myself taking my business elsewhere. I understand that New Years probably the most busy you see the Lotus, but this is why you take the time to carefully plan these types of events accordingly. Maybe next year you should only sell so many tickets, just a word of advice.
My sister and her husband both worked in the bar industry for years, her husband was the event planner and co-oridinator and when I had advised him of what happend on this date, he also commented that it sounds like the lotus was very unorganized and unprofessional. He would have never allowed his clients to be treated in this way.
I know you probably hear these types of things all the time, I just wanted to make sure that somebody heard about these issues hopefully down the road they will look into issues like this and hopefully resolve them to prevent any such problems from re-occuring.
Thank you kindly for your time,
