In 2011 Deniz’ single releases “Tung” and “Hertz” on Flamingo Recordings and his remixes for James Blunt’s “Dangerous” and Kaskade’s “Turn It Down” evolved into huge house anthems at clubs and festivals around the globe, being played over and over by Tiesto, Swedish House Mafia, Fedde Le Grand, Avicii, Alesso, Erick Morillo, David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Kaskade, you name it.
Fedde Le Grand voted Deniz “Breakthrough DJ/Producer 2011″, Sebastian Ingrosso called him “big time talent”, and Axwell replied to the question of a Swedish journalist if he had personal favourites among young DJs: “Deniz Koyu. He makes damn cool music at the moment.”
Past big DJ events at Extravaganza Fridays include: Michael Woods, Erick Morillo, Dimitri From Paris, Chris Lake, Dennis Ferrer, Nic Fanciulli and the Martinez Brothers.

3F, a contemporary urban wear fashion brand targeting Gen Y’ers, was launched in late 2011. And with the 3F Toronto flagship store now open at Dundas Square, the company has set aggressive growth targets of 33 new stores in the next 3 years.
But what they’re planning to do with their Board of Directors is raising even more eyebrows.
For any traditional company, only highly-recognized veterans of the Canadian business landscape would ever sit on their Board. Leaders, magnates and giants of industry. Well, 3F isn’t any traditional company.
This is a fashion-forward, forward-thinking young clothing company. And they’re doing things very differently.
3F has recently launched a campaign to find 6 everyday Torontonians to form its “Board of Directors”. Each member will reflect the company’s urban style and brand pillars: Authenticity, Creativity and Inspiration.
But these candidate aren’t sitting at the head of any boardroom table. No, you’ll find them at the helm of huge social networks with the means to galvanize them.
Once chosen, each Board member will help determine the future of the 3F brand by voting on designs, developing & critiquing marketing tactics, gathering peer insights, and authentically seeding 3F within their social networks.
One of the first challenges put to this unconventional Board of Directors: Weigh in on the 3F Freestyle Challenge.
The Freestyle Challenge will be executed every quarter. It is a mass-market campaign that will invite consumers from across Canada to submit their new fashion designs directly on the 3F website.
The winning design will then be chosen based on peer voting, votes from the 3F Board of Directors and input from the company’s executives. Finally, the chosen design will be produced and sold in-store, bringing the winning designer not only bragging rights, but also 3% of the sales of their creation.
This is an unconventional approach from an unconventional fashion company. It is unabashedly different. It is a refreshing change from cookie-cutter trend factories. And it is all totally 3F.
